We Started Planning a Ski Trip

There are going to be about eight of us as it stands now and obviously we are going to wait until the powder is nice and deep. I have decided that I am going to learn how to use a snowboard, although I suspect that it is going to take a long time and I probably will not be much good at it to start out. The challenge is a big part of it for me however. I can accept the pain that is going to be implicit in the deal. We are looking at Aspen luxury home rentals, which obviously would not be a practical idea if it were just Joanie and I, but with four couples it is not all that significant a cost when you split it up. There is not much reason why you can not try to make the best of the situation when you are going on vacation. A couple of years ago we took a trip to the beach and did the same thing, we rented what was basically a mansion, but instead of being designed for one really rich family, it was designed for large group vacations like this.

I have been trying to figure out how to do the thing as well as is possible right now and it is going to take a bit of planning and obviously a significant amount of money. However this way we should save a great deal of money on food. One of the ladies that is going with us is a very good chef who runs a huge kitchen at a resort hotel. She will think it a vacation to only cook for eight people, but obviously we would have to lend a hand as best we can. That should save a fortune compared to eating out.
